The mkSolaire™ has been designed to bring healthy living to the city. This open, spacious, loft-like home has been designed to offer healthy, clean and green city living and is perfect for an urban-infill lot, or anywhere a family might enjoy the luminous, loft-like feeling of this home. Through the use of strategically designed roofs and windows, the mkSolaire addresses the challenges of the standard row house by sculpting light and air into the center of the home.

Green Living

The mkSolaire™ home meets the Energy Star® program standards for energy efficient homes and meets the performance standards of the American Lung Association Health House program.

This high performance home is insulated with an air-barrier, open cell foam insulation, and all wood-to-wood framing joints are caulked, which makes the home airtight, energy efficient, and less likely to produce mold.

This home has also been designed to include water-saving plumbing fixtures, on-demand water heaters, and a mechanical ventilation system that is 30% more efficient than typical forced-air systems.

Healthy Living

High ceilings, open spaces and lots of windows give the mkSolaire a harmonious, spacious feel with ample natural light and ventilation.

The main living area on the first level is open and flexible and serves as the living/dining/lounge area. The kitchen, which is situated just off the main living area, is tucked away so it is not always visible, and a butler’s pantry has been added for easily accessible storage. Ceiling heights in most rooms are 9 ft high.

The ceiling above the main living area stretches from 12 to 18 ft high and opens up to the airy loft/library on the second level. Ceiling heights in most rooms are 9 ft high.
